A big store favorite, this Ostinato double album compilation of 40-member Somali supergroup 4 Mars taken from the archives of Radiodiffusion-Télévision de Djibouti (RTD) - an insane mix of Turkish synths, organic roots reggae, American brass and Egyptian and Yemeni rhythms, adorned with Chinese and Mongolian flutes in a remote corner of East Africa. It’s not exactly a cheapie, but the ten-minute nyabinghi-drummed call-and-response madness of ‘Hobalayeey Nabadu! (Hello Peace!)’ alone is already worth the price of admission.
