Max Romeo & The Upsetters - War Ina Babylon (Island 1976)
€95.00
Almost near mint first UK blue-rim-green-tree pressing of Max Romeo & the Upsetters' definitive masterpiece ‘War Ina Babylon’, the first part of what is often reffered to as The Holy Trinity of Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry’s Black Ark Productions, along with the Heptones’ ‘Party Time’ and Junior Murvin’s ‘Police and Thieves’, both released in 1977, the same year Perry produced ‘Heart of the Congos’. It’s the album that spawned ‘One Step Forward’ and the Prodigy-inspiring ‘Chase the Devil’, but more importantly it’s the album that displays both Romeo and Perry at the height of their awesome powers. Sleeve in great shape (a very strong VG+), original black rounded corner small pink Island logo inner. Not easy to find these days!
