Nice first US pressing of Mike Longo’s badass 1972 rare groove jazzfunk monster ‘The Awakening’, that has the maestro going all out on a tweaked electric piano over fierce drum and bass by Mickey Roker and Ron Carter respectively, augmented by James Moody, Virgil Jones and Curtis Fuller on brass and the great Dizzy Gillespie on conga duties (!). Go figure. Record and gatefold sleeve a strong VG+.
